Is It Just Me Or Is the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800 A Bit Pricey?

I was just taking a look at the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800 that was officially announced last Friday and released today on the T-Mobile site and I have to say that I am a bit surprised at the price. T-Mobile has the BlackBerry 8800 listed at $349.99 after a $200 instant rebate. This is $50 more than what Cingular has their 8800 listed for and I’ve seen the the Cingular model as low as $99.

UShopWireless has the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800 for free after a $99 mail-in rebate for about another 2 1/2 hours. Offer is good today only…

Good find Amit. I wish that I would have come across this earlier in the day.

At a Cingular store in person one can get the 8800 for $199.

I don’t know what it is at a T-Mo store.

It is ironic, though…T-Mo usually prides itself on competitive pricing.

That and the T-Mobile version doesn’t confirm GPS support. I paid the upgrade price of $469 today for mine.

I am not sure if it is accurate, however, the UShopWireless site listed GPS as one of the features of the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800.

The upgrade price for me is SO expensive. I have only had my 8700 for a month and 2 weeks and I want the new one now! I got mine from wirelessbuy.com for free. I wish I would have waited.

The Mobilkom Austria provides the 8800 for 249 EUR with 2 years contract (see http://www.a1.net/business/blackberryhandys) and I wonder what price it will have for T-Mobile

Just off the phone with T-Mo. I am eligable for the max upgrade credit which on the 8800 is $0. $350 for an upgrade or a new customer. They told me I could walk away if I could get a better deal after being a customer for almost 10 years!!!!!

I work for T-Mo, and it is already been backordered. RIM was not able to keep up with the orders, I have heard.

Al-We really told you that you could walk away after 10 years? Did you talk to an accounts specialist about cancelling?

Whoever I was talking to asked me if she should process my cancellation. There was no attempt to keep me as a customer. I am weighing my options now.
