I just got a note this morning from one our RIMarkable insiders stating that Research in Motion is working on a 3G BlackBerry and has just put up a job posting for a software developer with UMTS experience in the UK.

Here is the position summary:

Software development for a real-time embedded system, using SDL design technology and C. The system forms part of a UMTS protocol stack for a handset. You will be involved in the full development lifecycle of design, coding, testing and debugging using high-level design and simulator tools.
