How Long Will It Take Verizon To Release The BlackBerry Curve?

Looks like the Curve is now up on the Verizon site. For some reason it only has a “red X’ image, but all the info is there and conceivably can be ordered online…

Just ordered the Curve. After the NE2 and some other (hard-to-explain) discounts, it’s $119 outta pocket! Nice.

Can hardly wait for the Big Brown Truck…. !

confused.. i can’t find the curve ont he webesite, when i found it in the search i clicked it than clicked buy now. but it said the page wasn’t ready or something?..

i got all excited and then its not there. thats very disappointing.

WOW, no BS . . . they took it off the site! Maybe they were getting hammered with phone calls. But it was DEFINATELY there this morning. I was lucky enough to act on it and get the rep to order it over the phone. The CSR that I spoke with on the phone pushed the order through for me. It was ABSOLUTELY on the web site. But trust me . . . most of the reps don’t know that it’s even been released today or tomorrow. . . remember . . . we Curve seekers aren’t the only people that are calling. May I suggest calling and say that you saw that the phone was available on the website and could they please order you one anyway with the internet pricing. Which by the way broke down like this:

-$50 Mail in Rebate

Total: $169 plus overnight shipping, which they told me was $14.00

Tell them you saw that in the ad and I’m sure they’ll help you out with it. Please let us know how any of you make out with that plan of action.

Just got off the phone with Verizon Sales. I told them I was trying to place an order online, and it wasn’t working. The lady said she could place the order over the phone for me, but the phone wouldn’t ship until Thursday or Friday.

She also said the $100 online discount was for a primary line of service only- if it was an additional line on a family plan the discount is only $50. There’s a $50 mail-in-rebate included in every box, regardless of what type of line it is, and she said I could order any accessories I wanted over the phone also. Finally, she said the phones would not be available in-stores until May 21st. If anyone wants to verify this feel free to call 1 (800) 2-JOIN-IN and tell the customer service rep you’re trying to place an order online and you’re instructed to call the above number.

It’s been fun – a few of us should keep in touch and keep each other posted on BlackBerry applications, experiences, hacks, etc. (NV, Phil, NYCCamMan, Keats..) Basically – the people who haven’t been full of shit and have meant well in keeping this forum alive & helpful.

I just tried to order the phone with no luck. CSR did not seem to know wnaything about the phoen other than it was coming soon. She even put me on hold to check, still no luck.

What color is the curve that Verizon is getting? Becuse i know that at&t has a red one and silver one and i heard of a gold one as well.

I called VZW, the girl told me they were not taking any orders for the Curve until the 9th. I told her that I knew a couple of people who ordered it online and called up, she put me on hold to speak to a higher authority, then came back and told me unfortunatly we are not taking any orders or pre-orders for the Curve right now until the 9th in the morning. So thats it.

I think all the people you mentioned (and maybe even some you might have missed) always had the best intentions of giving some sort of tangible info, so along with you I second that thank you!! I think most of us always tried to keep the blog ON TOPIC, I was a small contributor, but have been following this blog for quite sometime.

Thanks to all that shed any light on the Curves release . . .

Maybe the next time some of us post anything on here it can be from our new 8830′s!

I think you may have a good argument, but there’s nothing to stop them from saying “Sorry, we made a mistake”. Perhaps the best approach would be to just get them to sort of agree that they “owe you one” and maybe they can order you one right there from the wharehouse. Hold your ground, yet be nice . . . remember, you catch more bee’s with honey!

Has anyone else noticed that they’ve taken the Blackberry Curve off the Verizon Website? What’s up with that??

Does anyone know where I can get access to pictures of the upcoming Curve for Verizon or is it assumed that it’s going to look / be exactly like the other Curves?

Talked to the folks at the “official” BlackBerry store in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and they say they can’t sell it until the 12th. They did say it was going to be the silver color, but no additional colors at this time. Sprint will be out with the colored Curves first, I think. Kicker is that you get free classes on the device if you buy it from that location, same rebates and terms as they are a Verizon Dealer, but the classes and tips are worth a lot.

Update to my 10:27am comments today. I called 1-800-JOIN-IN and ordered it. No questions. No problems. We never discussed the issue of availability. Price was 319.99 (2 yr contract price) less $100 discount*, less $50 NE2 (I have a small plan, otherwise it could be $100) less $50 mail-in rebate. Total $119.99. You can’t get both the ACD discount of $100 and the $100 on-line discount. You only get 1. He said I will have it in 2-3 business days.

My guess is it got put on the web page prematurely. Now, when you do the search for the Curve it comes up with the VZW Press release for it. Someone is probably catching a lot of heat for putting it on there early. I called VZW today however and they have assured me that I will receive my order before 10:30am tomorrow. I think it’s hit or miss again with getting them to order it for you since it doesn’t show on the website. And if they do take the order they will tell you that they won’t be shipping it until the 9th or after.

I was a little concerned when they made the order yesterday (being Sunday) and they weren’t able to give me an order number at that time. When I spoke with the same rep today, she even went so far as to say that I didn’t need to do the MIR and that they would credit me that $50 right away. Hmmmm who know’s maybe they still send out the MIR with the phone and I’ll get an additional $50 off bringing the total price down to $129! Wouldn’t that be great?

Pehaps the Phone went for less than $600 but the Ebay Seller took a shot at someone just wanting to pay $600 for it and be done? Hence the buy it now price. Does it say what the phone ended up selling for?

Just press the whole “I tried ordering it all day yesterday on the website and couldn’t get it to go through” angle. Maybe they’ll take responsibility and ship one out for you overnight?

Just remember to tell them you want all the discounts with it. You’ll have to pay for the ONS but it’s $14.00 and who cares since you’ll be saving anyway.
