Thanks for the post. You left off the end of th sentence which says "The location data is collected in a form that does not personally identify you." got-2 accesses the GPS on your device to provide location based alerts that you establish, e.g., get a pop-up reminder at the hardware store with a list of items you need. If you enter an address into a location based alert, got-2 will pop-up a BlackBerry or Google Map for you to confirm the location where you want the alert to trigger. gWhiz does not collect any of that GPS info or store it in a database. You'll also notice when you downloaded got-2 for free there was no prompt for name, address, phone#, ... because we do not want to know/maintain that data either. We're assuming at some point the advertisements will be more location aware and our ad sponsors will want to target impressions to certain zip codes but that is not taking place at this time. I hope this helps explain our current capability. Please see our forum site as well: http://forum.gwhizmobile.com/showthread.php?t=11We're also considering a version with no ads and would appreciate anyones thoughts on a reasonable price point. Thanks,

Make sure you scroll to the bottom of the downloads page to pick the free software you are looking for: got-2 (Task and Assignment Manager), gCalc! (Calculator), gFlash+ (Flashcards and Trivia), gRef (pocket reference). At the top of the downloads page is a section that includes advertisements. It looks like you may have clicked on an advertisement at the top of the page.Sorry about the confusion, we put a set of lines around the Ads to help distinguish them as advertisements vs. the free downloads below them.

Downloading all gWhiz products is free. If you go to gwhizmobile.com and try to download OTA, you might end up being suckered out of $9.99/month. I hate companies who do this so I'm not even going to waste my time checking out gwhizmobile.com/mobile.

Careful!
