I have a BlackBerry 8830 on Verizon Wireless. While the phone has a built in GPS, Verizon has locked its function to force customers to buy their VZNavigation service for $10 a month. As a result, the best accuracy I can get with Google Maps is no better than 8 miles from my actual location. The maps are pretty but basically useless for Verizon Wireless customers. Best advise – if you want a phone that isn’t crippled, don’t buy from Verizon Wireless!

Verizon’s version of the blackberry pearl somehow scrambles the GPS and puts me within 5000 meters of my destination.
