Free BlackBerry Storm Theme: AppleBerry

February 18, 2009 by Robb Dunewood 9 Comments

AppleBerry BlackBerry Storm ThemeA CrackBerry.com forum member that goes by the name hastings has created a free BlackBerry Storm Theme called AppleBerry that looks pretty good for a free BlackBerry Theme.  I haven’t had the chance to install AppleBerry on my BlackBerry Storm, however, CrackBerry Kevin has and has this to say:

The AppleBerry theme is SLICK. I installed it on my Storm and have been thoroughly impressed. Pretty much everything has been re-skinned, I love the message/calendar preview on the homescreen and “touch strip” is clever.

If you want to make your BlackBerry Storm kind of have that Mac look and feel check out the AppleBerry forum over on CrackBerry.com

The apple berry has a few glitches, if found. I really don’t recommended it.

to download a theme: 2 options
    1) OTA(0ver the air)
-to download themes over the air means to download them directly to your phone. this can only be done if you are on the broadcasting site on your phone. once you are on the site, click the link to download the theme. it will then be installed and saved on your phone(options–>themes) select activate theme.
    2)Zip File:
-to download themes that are zip files, you will need to be on your pc and download the zip file. once its downloaded, find the folder and extract the file(s). once finished with that, open the desktop manager (software given with phone), attach usb from pc to phone and there should be an option to add applications. once you see that, click it and it will show you all the apps/soft stored on your phone. click ad/search and locate the theme/app to install. installation should take about 15 secs at most and once its done, youre all set. you may now unplug your phone and locate the themes/apps you installed by going to options—>themes.

    hope this helps!!!

I am a new storm user. Maybe its too much phone for me. Can I make it faster? Feels slow to me. The I phone seems smoother. I like the way the bb screen clicks though. Also the type assist.
