I tried the marker trick and practically destroyed my trackball and almost my BlackBerry. I gave up on that and ordered a colored trackball online (BlackBerryTrackball.com). It makes my phone look awesome and was so easy! I'd definitely recommend buying over trying to do it yourself!

ok this might seem scary to some but all you have to do is stick a needle or push pin between the right left and bottom of the silver part in the middle. pop open – take out – put a square of colored lense from cheap 3d glasses over the light keep steady put ball in put silver ring back over in and click closed its soo easy just be gentle mates.

do not use a sharpie or a soldering iron it will void your warranty

U can change the color of the bb8800 has somthing2do with the setting of the bluetooth and back light settings. Don’t no wht I did but mine changed color lol
