Do You Use Google Talk For BlackBerry

March 15, 2007 by Robb Dunewood 38 Comments

I have a simple question for you.

Do you use Google Talk for BlackBerry?

Google Talk is on my list of 5 Must Have Free BlackBerry Downlaods and it seems like lately more and more people are talking about how great Google Talk for BlackBerry is. I wonder how many BlackBerry users out there are using it?

If you are a Google Talk for BlackBerry user, drop us a comment and let us know.

It doesn’t seem that there’s a googletalk client for blackberry 8800 .. the site lists pretty much every model of blackberry except the 8800 ..??

I use Google Talk religiously. Coupled with imified, I manage all of my tasks, contacts… the entire day.

Does anyone know of a way to sync google calendar with my 8703 without being on a BES?

To answer the question I also use gtalk everyday I had it on my 7290 and now my 8703e.

I love using Google Talk on my 7100. I like the fact that chats are saved in your GMail account. Someone can message me a piece of important information, I get it on my Blackberry and I know it’s archived in my GMail account.

I used GTalk on my 8800… and IM+ from time to time as well. Have all of my MSN, Y! and AIM contacts imported to GTalk so it’s fully functional as a multi-IM client for me. The BB integration is quite good – as if someone with a clue about how BBs work designed it…

Yes, I use it on my 8100 pearl.. I’ve been using it since it first came out.
I just wish they’d start enabling the VOIP on their mobile version. Their desktop version works like a charm.

I actually use BB Messenger. I don’t really use GTalk unless I need to reach a contact I have on there when not near a PC. Is it just me or does GTalk drain the battery pretty quickly? Much more than BB Messenger does.

@Stac – It’s integrated with BB well because RIM wrote it 🙂 Can’t get much better than that.

I love GTalk on my 8800, and I use it everyday too!

I sign on via my BBPearl right after I leave work, with it I maintain an almost 24/7 login to GGTalk.

I switched to the Blackberry (started with the 7290) simply because of Google Talk for BB. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t use it.

I use Google Talk religiously on my blackberry, but unfortunately not enough of my friends are Google users, so I still keep Ramble around for my AIM contacts. When, oh when, will Google Talk integrate AOL users?!

GT does work on the 8800 and it works quite well. Only thing that BBM has as an advantage is much better smileys.

I’d love to use GTalk more on my BlackBerry, but I don’t know enough people on the IM network to chat with. It is integrated very nicely, almost perfectly… but it would be supremely perfect if it talked to all the other IM networks (Yahoo, AIM, MSN, etc.).

    Get going on this Google/RIM!!!
