I simply cannot understand such a move....is it an exclusive deal with Flickr that prevents a Picasa integration for the BlackBerry?

Everyone would benefit, users and telco (due to increased data usage). Simply stupid such a move.

JaggedxXJ,

I believe that that is just a browser button that takes you to Picasa's mobile site.

I downloaded the Google "suite" onto my curve the other day and Picasa was one of the included apps. So it isn't dead?

Sucks is right. Had been looking forward to this for a while.
I'd hoped that it would be like all of those RIM chat clients having a common codebase, just supporting different services.
After all, there are the flickr and facebook pic upload apps which seem ok.
*keeps fingers crossed anyway*

This really really sucks for me. I use Picasa for all my picture needs and currently only upload to facebook from my phone.
