I like the ad; it's kind of clever and kind of funny.

No...it's not the greatest ad ever, but it doesn't have to be.

And remember, the smart thing about Verizon is that they keep hammering home the same point, which is that they have the best network.

More importantly, they implicitly hammer home the same point that the most important aspect of mobile devices is the quality of the network itself.

A good marketing campaign takes one message and keeps repeating it. Verizon has done that.

"The OS development comes from RIM, not VZW." -Not quite.

We only wish that was true. Hopefully sometime soon RIM will wake up and make it true. It would be a dream to be able to get OS updates direct from RIM without all the layers of service providers UI, feature and application changes.

Now if verizon was only "cool" enough for this type of ad...

A giant BB Curve carved out of ice is "cool" and cleaver without a weird looking guy with a crowd of extra’s loitering around stalking people.

".....this is a cool commercial…"

true, if you also think Steve Balmer's "monkeyboy" video on youtube is "cool"

"......it’s classic and brings their marketing campaign to a new level......"

and maybe decades from now, it will be compared to the Apple 1984 commercial.

LOL, LOL ,LOL........................

@ the rock

Do you read what you write? LOL!

As for the commercial, it's classic and brings their marketing campaign to a new level without changing much. Although it's with actors, I find it clever and entertaining while getting the point across in a humorous way.

Robb,

I've watched it a few times now, saw a link for it last night somewhere. The word "cool" never came into my thoughts. Btw, I don't "hate" verizon, but as you know IMO they could be much better if they focused on providing the best service and stopped all the other crap they do. Consumer freedom is always a good thing.

To me "cool" does not equal a commercial of a weird looking guy with a crowd of extra’s loitering around stalking wireless customers. But hey that's just me :)

RIM has some very cool commercials and ad's out. Wish I could find some pictures of the BB ad's around the Penn Station area. They are somewhat like this:

Verizon has some cool commercials and ad's out, however IMO the "can you hear me now" stuff is tired, better to show the technology, devices. For example the BB Storm commercials were attention getting.
