Mobile media software company Plazmic, introduces the Plazmic Content Developer’s Kit for BlackBerry that contains Theme Builder for BlackBerry.
Theme Builder is a new utility for customizing various aspects of the user interface, including home screen icons, wallpaper and font, text font and background, menu font and backgrounds idle screen and more. (Note: custom themes are supported on BlackBerry devices running BlackBerry device software v4.1 or higher only).

I’ve used the Plazmic CDK program to create a “theme” on my new 7130, and found it very limiting in what you can create using the version of software available. I am a freelance artist and was completely frustrated. The average user may find the custom screens fun to use. Yes, you can change the background, how the icons are displayed (not size), colors, etc, but not the head. You are forced to use their head including the horrible font used for the clock, which is almost unreadable and too large.
When I complained, they annouced they are working on a new version which, they say, will allow more changes. We’ll see.
