I just wanted to point out that it's misleading to say that "RIM had over 5, almost 6 times the growth of Apple increasing its BlackBerry subscribers by 1.7%." If you look at the changes in market share as related to the original market share, the iPhone saw a 1.2% increase in its market share and RIM saw a 4.1% increase in its market share, which means that the growth of RIM's market share is about 3.4 times that of the iPhone, not 5 or 6 as you stated. In addition, these numbers don't give us the whole picture because they don't tell us how many smartphone subscribers there are in January 2010 versus October 2009. Perhaps this is nitpicking, but as it stands the analysis is an incorrect one of incomplete data.

Whi can't RIM just update the OS so we can get more apps and a faster browser! Then Apple won't have a prayer!

Maybe Apple follows the age old principle of,"Do one thing and do it really well!"? Still, there is no reason why Apple cannot see beyond AT&T as a provider. At least add TMO! Give people some kind of choice. AT&T is the one provider I will not ever use again.

Why do BlackBerry users never understand that Apple releases 1 device on 1 network per year. Let's look at this report for the 3 months when the iPhone 4 comes out.

every device on this planet should have at least the option to make your inbox universal (or consolidated)...it's one of my favorite things about my blackberry. Having this feature on other platforms would let me consider switching to other platforms. why don't others enable this?

I am tempted by the N1 bluehorseshoe. Just the idea of typing on that damn virtual keyboard. I have an iPod Touch and I've never gotten use to typing on that thing. I am going to try out the N1 when it comes out... if I can find one to try first. Maybe I can find someone with the TMO N1 to try? I can't see myself buying one without trying it out.

When is Android going to have a consolidated inbox like Blackberry has? That seems like such a small thing, but they don't have it.

I wonder how the distribution of the percentage that Android has taken away from RIM and Apple would have resulted for both companies if it didn't exist...Android is coming on strong.

@ Eric...I second that, except I "will" move over to the N1 when it's released on VZW.

The future of the Android platform will be an interesting one. It is appealing to me because of the features and applications and it will stretch across all service providers and not just Apple. I don't think Android is there for me quite yet. I thought the Droid might be able to get me to move away from my Blackberry, but it was too big and heavy and the keyboard left a lot to be desired.

I'm certainly not ready to give up my Blackberry keyboard.
