Rumor has it that BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0, the update that is supposed to include native email support along with a BBM client, isn’t going to come out until mid February of next year.  I was going to name this post BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 Delayed, but, seeing how RIM only said that BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 would be out shortly after BlackBerry DevCon, calling it delayed wouldn’t be as accurate as stating that it is going to take forever to come out.

The reason for the hold up is RIM is having difficulty getting BlackBerry ID working with multiple PINs, which, would allow you to connect to mail, calendar, contacts, and BBM from both your BlackBerry and your PlayBook sharing information between the two devices.  If this rumor turns out to be true, and, we are looking at another 4 months for the BlackBerry PlayBook to be able to do things promised to be coming 3 to 4 months ago, I dare say that it will be a long winter for BlackBerry powered tablet devices.
