I must be in a third camp – I think SureType is okay. It’s better than I thought it would be and a neat idea… and I will continue to use it, but it can be frustrating at times, and I do miss the full QWERTY sometimes.

Even though the full QWERTY BBs are getting to be a better form factor, I think I still like the slight frustration with the SureType over the very compact full QWERTY (I think my thumbs are too big).

Thoughts on:

(my perspective = go through > 100 emails and return > 20 a day via BB in Calif.)

* Suretype – dislike it but love form factor so keeper for me. 8800 = brick.
* Verizon – left it but might go back if BB available. NorCal and OC, Cingular voice sucks.
* iPhone – want it because it’s cool but no other good reason, just like iPod video & iPod nano I don’t use. Would get in line on 29th but company IT won’t support, no corporate email access = non-starter.

Eric,

Since the BlackBerry 7100T came out there have been two and only two camps when it comes to SureType. Thoses who love it and those who hate it. I haven’t found anyone who says SureType is OK.

Personally, I like the form factor that you get with the SureType devices. I don’t wear my BlackBerry on my belt, but, put it into my pockect and even though the full QWERTY keyboard Berrys are getting smaller, they still feel like a calculator in your pocket.

Good question Thought. The BlackBerry Pearl 2, quite honestly, may be the perfect device for me as I have been wanting a Sure Type CDMA BlackBerry with a camera since the BlackBerry Pearl was still commonly refered to as the Stealth. I can tell you, however, that even if Verizon were giving away free BlackBerry Pearl 2 devices in front of my local Apple Store on June 28th, I would still be in line to get an iPhone on June 29th.

I believe that many die-hard BlackBerry users just like I will, are going to get an iPhone in addition to to their beloved Blackberrys no matter what.

I may have overdoesed on the the Steve Jobs Kool-Aid, however, unless someone comes out with a site to site transporter, I think that the iPhone will be the undisputed gadget of the year without a close number 2.
