BlackBerry OS 5.0 Leaked For The BlackBerry Bold

April 10, 2009 by Robb Dunewood 6 Comments

BlackBerry OS 5.0 for the BlackBerry Bold

BlackBerry OS 5.0.0.90 for the BlackBerry Bold has been leaked.  This is not an officially released OS so make sure that you know what you are doing if you decide to try it out.  We hear that it is a beast to downgrade back after you install it.

If you decide to give BB OS 5.0 for the Bold a go you can download it from the link below.

Can’t RIM stop these “leak” games and RIM just put out these “leaks” as official updates?

I again point out RIM should be putting out software updates for it’s hardware NOT the service providers.

That would be too easy and they would actual have to put out solid OS’s.

When I upgraded to then new OS 5.0 I lost 10 MB of app memory! I like the feel of the new OS but the extra apps that were tacked on was not something I wanted in the exchange. It is ridiculous. These are not core applications they added without permission. Bing, Slacker, YouTube, MyVerizon, Verizon Visual VoiceMail, VZW Tones, V Cast Videos, Slacker Radio, and Flickr are all irremovable applications that are dead memory on the phone that I purchased. I paid for the phone, and I should be able to decided exactly which non-core apps have any relevance on my phone. These extras are dead space on my phone as I do not use them, if fact I have them hidden as to not clutter up the screen. If someone has any insight on how to remove them I would be most grateful as I want the memory and control of my own phone back.
