BlackBerry Now Available in Indonesia

March 17, 2005 by Robb Dunewood 21 Comments

Indosat, an Indonesian based telecommunications company, and Research in Motion, today announced plans to launch BlackBerry Internet Service in Indonesia. BlackBerry Internet Service gives small businesses that don’t have the infrastructure for BlackBerry Enterprise and Individual users a wireless solution for “Always On” email.

“Indosat was the first to commercially launch BlackBerry in Indonesia in December last year. With its success in the corporate market, we are now extending BlackBerry to individuals and businesses of all sizes for the first time in this country,” said Hasnul Suhaimi, Indosat Consumer Market Director.

It cost a lot to buy the bb, for BOLD, it cost around 8 Million Rupiah, while Storm the rumour is around 14 Million Rupiah.
For the service is not bad, indosat gives quite fair rate. visit http://www.indosat.com for details

I have a soon-to-be unlocked Blackberry Storm 9530 Global Phone to sell. I have only used it for 2 weeks before switching to Javelin. Verizon Wireless required me to use it for 60 days in order to get the unlock code. Send me an e-mail if anyone want to buy the Blackberry Storm with an offer price. My e-mail is asetiadh@gmail.com

One of the great things about the BlackBerry is all the great apps that you can run on it.

For example, Salat from Islam Apps provides prayer times based on current location (either through GPS or BlackBerry maps). You can check it out at the following link:

    Very Cool,
Mine is from PT Indosat Indonesia and at first I could not get it unlocked but I just got my code from here http://www.unlockingblackberry.com and it worked!
Now I’m using an at&t 3g sim card and it works great.
Thought I would pass on the info.
