BlackBerry Gemini

BGR has posted what appears to be the first live shot of the BlackBerry Gemini.

  • OS 5.0
  • 320×240 resolution screen
  • QWERTY (really?)
  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n (again, not too sure on the n part)
  • 2.0 megapixel camera

looks sleek, not that different from a 8900 from my perspective. I’m assuming this will be the bold successor?

    @ ted

This model is in the 8000 series and doesn’t carry 3g, so it wouldn’t be a successor to the Bold. It’s basically a cheaper alternative to the Bold.

Ahh I see. Not a bad idea though if you want to create different levels of blackberry ownership. That way, it increases the chance for someone to get a blackberry at a starting level such as the gemini incase they cannot afford, what I would say the more complete package.

Not a bad marketing idea at all. More BB’s available for EVERYONE.

These are just my assumptions of their plan…I remember hearing about the gemini like a year ago and thought the idea fell off. Wasn’t aware it would be a cheaper version.
