Research in Motion’s BlackBerry has topped the Best Canadian Brands list computed by Interband and put out by Report on Business. This is pretty darn good seeing how BlackBerry didn’t even make the list of 25 in the last ranking in 2006.
Not only did BlackBerry win, but, they ran away with it. RBC, Royal Bank of Canada, came in at the number two spot valued nearly $1.5 billion less than BlackBerry.
For those of you wondering RIMarkable was eligible for the list. Even though we talk about BlackBerrys all the time we are based just South of the Canadian border. Whomever was in the 25th spot should feel really lucky.

Robb, I’m just curious – you often use plural language when speaking about your blog – “we” and “us,” etc. – is Rimarkable a company with multiple people, or are you using the “royal” we?
In either case, I thoroughly enjoy your blog and check it often – it’s the best place I’ve found to get good RIM-related news fast. Better even than Crackberry.com.
It’s just me and a few guest posts from time to time.
