BlackBerry 7130i coming to Sprint May 28th

It looks like the rumors about a BlackBerry 7130 coming to Sprint were right. According to the “Sprint Retail Sales Playbook” the BlackBerry 7130i will be available in Sprint retail stores May 28th.

May 28th is a Sunday. How many big releases happen on Sunday??

I agree…that date makes no sense.

Also, note the sloppy reference to the Palm 700…no version identifier at the end…not the “700p” or “700w”…just “700″…that may seem trivial, but to a carrier that would be a big deal.

Also, notice the designation of the LG phone…it has the model number and then the phrase “by LG”…not “LG LX550″ as would be consistent with the phraseology used with the other models.

Finally, why in the world does a carrier drop 3 brand new phones on one day? Wouldn’t it make sense to release them on different days, for maximum buzz? If they really did follow through with this release, the Palm 700 would overshadow the other units.

Bottom line: this seems rather goofy.
