After Reaching an all-time high a week or so ago, Research in Motions stock (symbol RIMM) has taken a bit of a dip over the passed few days.
Just yesterday RIM’s stock fell 6.3% and is down another 2.5% today at the time of this posting.
What do you think is causing the slide?

The countdown to the biggest BlackBerry conference of the year has begun. Wireless Enterprise Symposium (WES 2008) will run May 13th through the 15th in Orlando.
WES is still over six months away and presenters are still being set. Two keynote speakers, however, have been confirmed so if you attend, you can expect to hear from the likes of James M. Kitts, former CEO of The Gillette Company and Ray Kurzweil, inventor, entrepreneur, author and futurist.
We haven’t been to a WES convention before but we are going to try our best to get down to Orlando this year.

It looks like Research in Motion just launched a “lite” version of BlackBerry Enterprise Server for small to medium sized businesses name BlackBerry Professional Software.
BlackBerry Professional Software is described as:
A new wireless communications and collaboration solution that tightly integrates with the industry leading email servers and is specifically designed and priced to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. BlackBerry Professional Software is based on the core functionality of the best-in-class BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software used by governments and large organizations worldwide, but it is streamlined and tailored to meet the needs of smaller organizations with up to 30 wireless users. BlackBerry Professional Software is priced at $499 for 5 users.
The big to do about BlackBerry Professional Software is that because it is a scaled back version of BlackBerry Enterprise Server designed to support 30 or fewer BlackBerry users, it can be installed on the same server that runs Exchange or Lotus Notes. This is a huge plus for small companies with limited IT resources.
BlackBerry Professional Software will set you back $499 for a 5 users license or $849 for a 10 user license, however, for a limited time you can receive a free 5 users license with the purchase of 5 new BlackBerry devices.

Based on the number of emails we have received asking for advice on how to “fix the time” on BlackBerry users devices, it would appear that many folks haven’t applied the DST 2007 Patch for BlackBerry Devices.
If you BlackBerry adjusted for DST yesterday, the old “Fall Back” date here is what you need to do:
- Point your devices BlackBerry Browser to mobile.blackberry.com
- Click on Important info: DST 2007
- Click Download
- Follow the instructions…
Applying the DST 2007 Patch for BlackBerry is pretty straight forward, however, it does take it 15 minutes or so to complete.
You can read more information about applying the DST 2007 Patch here…

My bad for completely missing this one last week, but, it looks like the FCC has officially approved the BlackBerry Pearl 8130.
According to PhoneScoop.com and the FCC documents they link to, the CDMA BlackBerry Pearl 8130 was approved on the 25th.
Does this change your opinion on when when it’s launch date will be announced?
Thanks for the tip Wakefield…

BlackBerry maker, Research in Motion may be preparing itself for a launch of of the rumored BlackBerry 9000 series devices. According to BGR, RIM has registered several new domains earlier this month.
- blackberry9110.com
- blackberry9120.com
- blackberry9130.com
- blackberry9310.com
- blackberry9320.com
- blackberry9330.com
For the most part, it looks like RIM will keep the same naming conventions as the BlackBerry 8000 series of devices.
