TELUS may not have been the first to announce the BlackBerry Curve 8330, however, they appear to be the first to actually offer it. Our Canadian neighbors to the North can now buy the 8330 starting at $249.99 with a 3-year contract.
Sprint said they would be releasing the BlackBerry Curve 8330 in April, but, we’re guessing that it will be towards the end of the month.
Time will definitely tell…

First there was Verizon, then Sprint, and now TELUS officially announces the eventual release of the BlackBerry Curve 8330. That just leaves a few more North American CDMA based carriers like Bell Mobility, Alltel, and Willie Wayne’s Wireless Mobile Mart to announce the BlackBerry Curve 8830.
No one has actually given an official launch date although, Sprint is saying their version will come out this month. We’ll have to wait and see with the TELUS version comes out.

I know that there are a lot of RIMarkable readers out there that are waiting for the CDMA version of the BlackBerry Curve, the BlackBerry Curve 8330, to come out as patiently as they can. Thanks to the quick eye and quick thinking of Howard Forums member blackdogs377, who nabbed a screen shot of the BlackBerry Curve 8330 on Telus’ website, we can report that the much anticipated release may be very near.
We’ve been hearing a lot of rumors that the BlackBerry Curve 8830 may actually come out this month. Even though I am on the record for stating that I didn’t think it would debut before May, I hope this is one of those times that I am wrong.
Telus has pulled the promotion for the BlackBerry Curve 8830 from there site, however, whenever there is smoke, there is usually fire. As it’s always been, it’s just a matter of time before the 8830 debuts, however, it’s looking like it will be a smaller amount of time than what I, at least, thought that it would be.

Earlier today, Blackberry Sync announced that that Telus is launching the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 on November 2nd. They’ve since updated that announcement with more information, pictures, and spec sheets pretaining to the Telus 8130.

What I find really interesting is that the first thing listed in the Telus BlackBerry Pearl 8130 features list is the Facebook for BlackBerry application. Granted, you can download Facebook for BlackBerry for free. The fact, however, that RIM is pre-loading the application on new BlackBerry Pearls at the factory tells me that RIM is really serious about the consumer market.

Telus’ Pearl will come in a silver metallic finish and will sport the 2.0 megapixel camera, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and of course the upgraded OS.
We haven’t gotten any other confirmation, so, if you hear anything let us know.

One of the readers over at BlackBerry Cool while looking through the software downloads on the BlackBerry website discovered an option to download software for the BlackBerry 8703e under the Software Download for Telus Mobility section of the site.
Even though there has been no official announcement this can only mean that Telus will carry the BlackBerry 8703e eventually. The only question is when?

It looks like Motorola and Telus are going after would-be BlackBerry users right in Research in Motion’s back yard. Telus will be the first carrier to offer the Motorola Q in Canada.
According to Telus’s website, the Motorola Q will be $249.99 with a three year contract with voice, email, and data plans totaling $80 per month or more thru June 30th.
I have never been one to cry “BlackBerry Killer”, however, I have been a fan of the Q going way back to when we were calling it the RazrBerry (incorrectly I might add). I have been tossing around the idea of carrying a BlackBerry and a mobile phone and the Motorola Q along with the Mobile ESPN phone are at the top of my lists right now.

TELUS Mobility just launched its national Wireless High Speed Network in 5 major urban areas across Canada and will offer typical download speeds of 400 to 700 kilobits per second.
The BlackBerry 7130e will be the first BlackBerry device on the TELUS network to take advantage of these speeds when it comes out later this year. The really cool thing is that you can tether your 7130e to your laptop to use it as a high speed modem.
The BlackBerry 7130e(tm) will offer complete BlackBerry functionality including support for phone, e-mail, Internet, text messaging, organizer and data applications, all in a compact traditional wireless phone form factor. The BlackBerry 7130e can also be used as a tethered modem to connect laptops to the Internet over TELUS Mobility’s Wireless High Speed network. The BlackBerry 7130e will be available to TELUS Mobility clients later this year.
I cannot wait until Verizon releases the BlackBerry 7130e here in the U.S. How cool will be to be able to kill an hour or two playing World of WarCraft while delayed in a plane on the tarmac for 2 hours?
