Verizon BlackBerry Storm Dummy Shots

CrackBerry Forums member BBerry was in a Verizon store with his dad asking about new phones coming out and the Verizon employee pulled out a BlackBerry storm dummy of which BBerry got some pretty good shots.

There are a few more after the jump.

Does Leaked Verizon Document Point To BlackBerry Storm Release Timeframe?

Engadget got their hands on an internal new device training schedule that may point to an early November release date for the BlackBerry Storm.

The online BlackBerry Storm course starts on October 17th and runs through November 2nd. One could conclude that if the Storm is released shortly after training is completed, we may see the device towards the beginning of November.

That Is One Good Looking Device…

I have to admit that the Verizon BlackBerry Storm is one awfully good looking device. I just wish that it had a keyboard.

How Will AT&T React To Not Getting The BlackBerry Storm?

We know that a CDMA only touchscreen BlackBerry is coming to North America. The BlackBerry Storm is rumored to hit Verizon anytime between the end of next month and mid November. A Bell BlackBerry Storm is rumored to hit bill towards the end of Q4.

We also know that a GSM variant of the BlackBerry Storm (or Thunder) is coming to Vodafone over in the UK, however, we haven’t heard any plans about the GSM touchscreen BlackBerry showing up in RIM’s biggest market.

I think that, at this point, it is safe call the AT&T BlackBerry Bold launch, or, lack there of, a complete debacle. Some of it is probably RIM’s fault but much of it, I believe, has to do with AT&T being the exclusive carrier of the iPhone in the U.S.

The fact still remains that AT&T is the worlds largest BlackBerry carrier and the most revolutionary BlackBerry to come out in the passed few years won’t make it on to their network.

I wonder how they will react to that…

Why Didn’t RIM Officially Announce The BlackBerry Storm At CTIA?

I wonder why Research in Motion didn’t take the opportunity to officially announce the BlackBerry Storm at CTIA last week?

I understand the concept of not letting the cat out of the bag, however, it seems like a mixed opportunity seeing how Verizon is doing their best to tell the world about the Storm not a full week after the close of CTIA.

First it was an internal BlackBerry Storm video. Then came an actual website. I really don’t see why RIM didn’t just announce the Storm last week.

The iPhone Is Blocking The AT&T BlackBerry Bold Launch… Literally

We’ve been saying for a while that the AT&T BlackBerry Bold was being delayed becasue of the iPhone, however, we thought that it was becuase AT&T really wanted to sell a lot of iPhones.

According to the Globe and Mail, the reason, at least in part, that the AT&T BlackBerry Bold hasn’t been launched is becasue the iPhone 3G is such a 3G bandwidth hog it clogs AT&T’s network to the point of not having enough resources to effectively launch the Bold.

The iPhone utilizes a “ping-pong” technology which must constantly access AT&T’s network in order to receive data and e-mails, placing a great strain on the telecom company’s cellular infrastructure. “We believe that AT&T is now realizing that it can have up to 20 BlackBerrys for every iPhone on its network. AT&T will need to spend as much as $1-billion (U.S.) to repair its network.

Verizon BlackBerry Storm Site Launched Then Taken Down

UPDATE:  The Verizon BlackBerry Storm site is back up.

For a short time yesterday the the BlackBerry Storm appeared on Verizon’s website, however, it looked like someone jumped the gun on taking the place holder for the BlackBerry Storm live.

I am not sure how long the BlackBerry Storm was up on Verizon’s site, however, according to BlackBerry news, you really didn’t miss much. They said the site “stinks”.

Since the BlackBerry 8830, Verizon has created very rich multimedia sites for their BlackBerrys. One could only expect the same for the BlackBerry Storm. Hopefully they will put a little more effort into things when they really mean to put the BlackBerry Storm on their site.
