Free BlackBerry Games

RHexI have a saying.  The only thing better than a good BlackBerry game is a good free BlackBerry game and there is a pretty cool looking one out for the BlackBerry Bold, Storm, and Curve 8900 from CrucialSoft called RHex.

RHex kind of has a Tetris like feel to it as the object is to explode falling hexagons by connecting four or more in a row.  Instead of sliding the falling hexagons left or right you stack them on top of a central hex by rotating it.  Check the video out after the jump to get a better feel for it.

We just stumbled upon a free puzzle game for the the BlackBerry Storm called Lights Out.  The goal of the game is to turn off the lights by clicking on them.  When you click on a light to toggle it, it also toggles the lights next to it vertically and horizontally.  The video below gives you a pretty good idea of what you are in for.

You can download Lights Out for free here

Cool Stuff That I Installed On My BlackBerry This WeekA friend of mine stopped by my office this morning and asked me, “What cool stuff did you install on your BlackBerry this week?  I gave him a list of 4 or 5 goodies that I am playing around with and immediately thought that this would make a good post.

As a matter of fact I think that it would make a good series, so, with that,  Cool Stuff That I Installed On My BlackBerry This Week is born.

Nickel Buddy Coin TossOur pal Mike from Nickel Buddy Studios has just released a free BlackBerry application called Nickel Buddy Coin Toss, which, as the name implies, simulates a coin toss that randomly lands on heads or tails.  Pretty simple, but, you can’t beat the price.

There are two versions, one for BlackBerry devices with trackballs with BB OS 4.2 or higher and a version just for the BlackBerry Storm.

You can download Nickel Buddy Coin Toss here.

Free BlackBerry Games

We have a little saying around here that the only thing better than a good BlackBerry game is a good FREE BlackBerry game.  If you have an older model BlackBerry (not a Pearl Flip, Bold, Curve 8900, or Storm) you can download 3 free BlackBerry Games from bPlay.

The games are:

  • Medieval Kings Chess II
  • Disco Bowling
  • Proteus (think Asteroids)

I’ve played all three games, and, usually games of this quality come with a price tag.  Trust me when I tell you that they are worth the time it takes to download them.

You can download all 3 free BlackBerry games OTA from this link http://www.bplay.com/offer/UKOL3/

Happy gaming old school BlackBerry users…

If you happen to be a BlackBerry user and an XBox Gamer that really gets into your friends XBox Live stats such as their gamerscore, online status, gamer pictures,  avatars, latest games, and achievements there is a free BlackBerry application that you will want to take a look at. XBerry Live allows you to do all these things and more and you absolutely cannot beat the price.

XBerry Live runs on pretty much every BlackBerry device to come out since the BlackBerry 8700 and this includes the BlackBerry Storm if you turn off compatibility mode.  One of the really cool features is that XBerry Live will automatically let you know when there is a new version so staying up to date should be a breeze.

XBerry Live is a free BlackBerry application although the developer is accepting donations via PayPal.  You can get more information about XBerry Live and an OTA download link here

Yahoo! Go No Available For BlackBerry Bold

by Robb Dunewood on December 29, 2008 · 1 comment

Yahoo! Go, Yahoo’s mobile portal application that allows you to send email, upload photos, download maps, get stock quotes, and get breaking news, has been updated to version 3.0.47 and now has support for the BlackBerry Bold.

Yahoo! Go 3.0.47 is not compatibable with the BlackBerry Storm and I haven’t played with it since it was in beta for the BlackBerry Pearl 8130.  If I remember correctly it was a little bit slow, so, I wonder how the new version will on the BlackBerry Bold that has 3G and more processing power all around.

If you are a BlackBerry Bold use and decide to give Yahoo! Go a try, let us know how it goes via the commnents.

Get information on how to download Yahoo! Go to your BlackBerry here

The only thing better than a good BlackBerry game is a good free BlackBerry game and it just so happens that, through August 31st, bPlay is offering Pro Golf Paradise for free.

FREE NOW THRU AUGUST 31! Just add the game to your shopping cart with the “Buy Now” option and proceed through a normal purchase. Please note that you must enter a valid credit card upon purchase, even though your card will NOT be charged for this title. Offer not available through the “Try It Now” option.

As of the time of this posting, the bPlay shopping cart seems to be pretty sluggish. I haven’t been able to complete the free purchase. I will check about a little later and let you know how it goes. I can check it out for yourself here

Stefan from AIM Productions just sent me a press release stating that AIM has just launched their first batch of BlackBerry Games including the Free BlackBerry Game Bubble Popper.

The point of the game is simple: remove bubbles from the grid by double-clicking groups of two or more adjacent, like-colored bubbles. The longer your bubble chains are, the more points you score.

In addition to the free Blackberry game, Bubble Popper, AIM has released 3 other titles which, for a limited time, you can get a 30% discount on through ClickGamer.

To get the 30% discount just enter in the promotion code berry007 at checkout.
