A few RIMarkable readers have asked why we haven’t posted any recent pictures of celebrities with BlackBerrys lately. Well, that would be because we’ve created an entire site dedicated to celebrities with BlackBerrys, appropriately named Celebrity BlackBerry Sightings.
It still amazes me that some of the most popular posts here are RIMarkable a pictures of famous folks using their BlackBerrys. When I say popular, we are talking about hundreds of thousands of page views over the years.
Needless to say Celebrity BlackBerry Sightings is still going strong, so, if you would like to see pictures of the the famous and the infamous that use our beloved BlackBerry, head on over and have a look.

Washington DC mayor Adrian Fenty really likes BlackBerry devices. He has three of them on his belt, one for his mayoral duties, one for immediate contact with the Washington DC Chief of Police, and one for personal duties. According to the DCist, there are even rumors of the mayor wanting a forth BlackBerry.
If you take a look at Fenty’s campaign website from last year, you will see his BlackBerry no less than 6 times in a 30 second video.

I am going to go out on a limb and assume that the majority of BlackBerry users would consider email to be the BlackBerry’s killer feature. Besides email, however, what excites you about your BlackBerry like whatever American Idol contestant, Katherine McPhee, has discovered about her 8700 that has her busting at the seams with excitement.

I’ve have a little project I am working on over on Celebrity BlackBerry Sightings where I could use your help. I imagine that most if not all of the 2008 presidential candidates use BlackBerry devices. My goal is to find online photographs of as many of the presidential candidates as possible.

I have to give it to Research in Motion on this one. They are sponsoring the John Mayer Concert Tour which begins June 1st. RIM will be on site at each stop on the 40 date tour promoting RIM’s new consumer device the BlackBerry Curve. Paul Kalbfleisch, RIM’s senior director of corporate marketing, had this to say…
Recent additions to the BlackBerry product line such as the Pearl and the new Curve make live music a viable avenue to reach consumers in search of devices with plenty of capabilities. John Mayer’s concert tour gives us that venue and that context to talk about BlackBerry to a group of people that maybe we haven’t talked to before. “We’re able to reach out to a new audience, maybe a slightly younger audience in their 20s, without at all alienating the existing BlackBerry audience.
I’ve been critical of RIM’s marketing of the BlackBerry Curve believing that RIM really didn’t target new consumers with 70% to 80% of BlackBerry Pearl sales going to existing BlackBerry subscribers. It looks like RIM is doing a much better job of marketing the BlackBerry Curve.
