Free BlackBerry Download: Bccthis For BlackBerry

We just got word of a new free BlackBerry application called Bccthis for BlackBerry which allows you to compose private, secure messages to selected recipients in the To, Cc, or Bcc fields of their emails while simultaneously sending a message to a larger group.

Lets say that you reply to a message with a bunch of folks in the To, CC, or BCC fields, but, have something you want to say specifically to just one or a few of the recipients in addition to your general message to all. Normally you would have to send a second message to including only those that you want your private message to go to. Bccthis for BlackBerry allows you to include your private message to select recipients from within your general message to all saving you from having to send a second message.

I’ve actually used the Outlook version of Bccthis before and it is kind of a cool application. You definitely can’t beat the price so I am going to give it a go on my BlackBerry.

OS 5.0.0.508 Coming To The Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8530 March 22nd

It looks like OS 5.0.0.508 for the Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8530 that we first heard about last week will be coming out Monday. http://verizonwireless.com/curve8530support is live, however, the update is still not available and says coming soon.

Push To Talk Now Available On Verizon BlackBerry Devices

Word on the street is that Verizon has released Push to Talk for BlackBerry devices. The 170KB application can be downloaded from the Verizon App Center, however, you must call Verizon customer service to activate Push to Talk on your plan and there is a $5.00 per month charge for the service.

With Verizon Push to Talk you can:

Make quick exchanges.
Push one button to contact team members or clients.
Place group calls.
Hold conversations with as many as 50 total participants.
Check team member status with Presence.
See who is available for a Push to Talk call.
Manage contacts for the entire company online.
Add, delete and assign contacts, create groups and more.

Make and receive voice calls without needing a second device or phone number.
Enjoy coast-to-coast coverage.
Connect on our nationwide broadband network, and get expanded coverage across the United States within the National Enhanced Services Rate and Coverage Area.

Foursquare Adds 100,000 Users In 10 Days

Foursquare tweeted yesterday that almost 100,000 users have signed up to the service in the last 10 days. This is really impressive seeing how the company just reported moving beyond half a million 5 or 6 days ago and it took them almost a year to get there.

I’ve been using playing Foursquare for exactly one month now, and, although I doubt that I will every use it enough to become mayor of anything. It is a cool little time waster especially if you have a few friends or family members that are playing as well.

Yesterday, Research in Motion said that exciting things were coming to BlackBerry Messenger in the days and weeks ahead and they’ve wasted no time in making good on their promise. Today on the official BlackBerry Facebook page RIM announced the BlackBerry Barcode Generator, a Facebook application that allows you to use your BlackBerry PIN to create a BBM barcode that you can:

Show it off on your Facebook profile pic
Feature it on your Facebook profile page
Share it on your BlackBerry screen

I’ve just installed the Tumblr BlackBerry app, but, from what i can tell, it seems to be as full featured as the Tumblr iPhone app. Kind of makes sense seeing how the same folks developed it.
