Today was not a good day to travel through the Midwest and a horrible day to try to connect through O’Hare. I was stuck in Chicago for nearly 10 hours. My flight was delayed so many times that they stopped updating the departure time and just had the marque say “Eventually.”
I dare say that I would have lost it if it weren’t for my trusty BlackBerry. This isn’t the first nor probably the last that I will write this very post. It is, however, truly amazing all the stuff you can get done on a BlackBerry when you are waiting for plane.
Just in case you were wondering, if you are my skill level, you can play about 7 complete games of Sudoku while waiting in line at the United Airlines customer service center. I average just shy of 9 minutes per game on easy….
I love my BlackBerry.

Games on Deck recently an interview with Magmic Games CEO, John Criswick, and Nicholas Reichenbach, VP of BPlay, Magmic’s BlackBerry games only distribution portal. Together, Magmic Games and Bplay accounts for 70% - 80% of the BlackBerry games market.
The number of BlackBerry devices out there compared to feature phones is a rounding error comparatively, thus, the BlackBerry games market is pretty small… less than one percent of the mobile game business. Even though the BlackBerry games market is small, BlackBerry gamers tend to play twice as many games as feature phone gamers.
BlackBerry users have a
6-7% penetration on mobile games, while feature phones have only 2-3%. So 6-7% of all BlackBerry users play games.
I wonder if now that consumers are really starting to pick up BlackBerry devices if we will see percentage of BlackBerry gamers go up?

I’ve been itching for some new BlackBerry games so I headed over to bplay to take a look at what they’ve got. I currently have three of bplay’s top ten, Texas Hold’em King 2, Sudoku, and my personal favorate, Spider Solitaire.
I know that many RIMarkable readers are into games for the BlackBerry big time so I am asking for suggestions. Should I stick to the bplay top ten and go something like Worms or Transformers or is there some other really cool BlackBerry game that hasn’t hit the top ten yet.
