Win A Free GPS Puck On BlackBerry Cool

BlackBerry Cool holds a weekend contest every week where the winners always get some type of prise, usually a piece of software for your BlackBerry. This weekend, for the second time, the Weekend Contest winner will ‘navigate’ away with a BT-359 Bluetooth GPS Puck from USGlobalSat.

All you have to do to win the free GPS Puck is leave a comment on BlackBerry Cool answering a simple question:

How would you market the BlackBerry 8800?

That’s it. Just answer this simple question and have a chance at winning a free GPS Puck from BlackBerry Cool. I must say that you chances of winning are pretty good. Only 10 people have commented at the time of this writing. Last time, only 13 people entered so get to commenting.

I’m Looking For A Really Good Bluetooth Headset

I am in the market for a really, really good Bluetooth Headset. I currently have a Plantronics Discovery 645 that I absolutely love and am seriously thinking about just moving up to the Plantronics Discovery 655 or possibly the BlackBerry branded version of the 655 (if it doesn’t cost too much more).

I figured, however, that this would be a good time to ask RIMarkable readers what Bluetooth headsets you swear by. I tend to like headsets with ear buds or gels and sound canceling technology like DSP is a must. I need to be able to hear and be heard in noisy airports and other public places with lots of background noise.

If you have or know of a headset that fits the bill, leave us a mini review in the comments.

3 Must Have BlackBerry Pearl Accessories

There is no doubt that the hottest smartphone on the market right now is the BlackBerry Pearl from Research in Motion and T-Mobile. This little device is almost single handedly responsible for skyrocketing RIM’s stock price (ticker RIMM) up over $110 per share.

The BlackBerry Pearl is small, cute, takes pictures, and allows you to listen to MP3s and although it comes out of the box with everything that you need to run, there are a few things that you should just pick up with it while your in the T-Mobile store.

Here is my list of 3 must have BlackBerry Pearl Accessories

$180 Gucci BlackBerry Case

Do you like nice things but aren’t a big enough “Baller” to bling out your BlackBerry with 18K gold? Try out a leather BlackBerry case from Gucci for the low, low price of just $180.

I like nice things, however, if I am honest, I don’t think that I have ever spent $180 on an actual BlackBerry, let alone a BlackBerry case. I am not saying that I would never own a Gucci BlackBerry case. I am just saying that I would never buy one for myself.

A lot of BlackBerry owner’s, however, are buying Gucci BlackBerry cases. So many in fact, that Saks Fifth Avenue is limiting the number that any one person buys to 3 in a 30 day period.

BlackBerry Pearl Dissappointment: No Holster

After reading a few threads in various message boards it appears that one of the big misses with the BlackBerry Pearl is the lack of any type of holster. RIM definitely went the “cell phone” route with the Pearl giving you only the essentials to operate the device out of the box.

Not only does the BlackBerry Pearl not contain a holster, there didn’t seem to be any holsters or cases in the T-Mobile stores to buy either. This is where I think that Research in Motion made a mistake. RIM had to know that even though they are pushing the BlackBerry Pearl as a more consumer oriented BlackBerry that most people in stores yesterday buying the devices are die-hard existing BlackBerry users. Ones who are used to holsters and belt clips.

BlackBerry HS-655 Bluetooth Headset

It looks like the BlackBerry Pearl isn’t the only new gadget that Research in Motion is unveiling today. Under the Accessories section of the BlackBerry Pearl website, you will see a sweet looking little earpiece called the BlackBerry HS-655 Bluetooth Headset

From what we can tell, the BlackBerry HS-655 Bluetooth Headset which features Digital Signal Processing or (DSP) technology from Plantronics, is actually a BlackBerry branded and color-schemed version of the Plantronics Discovery 655 Bluetooth Headset.

I personally use the Plantronics Discovery 645 and love it so would think that if the 655 works as well as my 645 does for me, that the BlackBerry version, the HS-655, will be a heck of a headset. It is very small and light weight at only 9 grams and fits comfortably in your ear with or without the earclip. It also has three different size ear gels to make sure the fit is just right.

I was going to upgrade to the Discovery 655 but know that I know that RIM has a BlackBerry branded version, I will try to get a BlackBerry HS-655

What is your favorite BlackBerry Accessory?

A friend of mine just bought his first BlackBerry and asked me about good BlackBerry accessories to get for it. Less my extended battery for the 7130e and my Plantronics Bluetooth wireless headset, I am really not that big on BlackBerry accessories.

That being said, I figure that this is good a time as any to ask you what BlackBerry Accessories you use. Drop us a comment and let us know…

By the by… I am still looking for a good BlackBerry skin for my 7130e.
