iPhone Theme for BlackBerry

Thanks to one of Steve St. Pierre’s readers over on BlackBerry Cool in addition to making your BlackBerry sound like an iPhone you can make your BlackBerry look like an iPhone.

BBTC’s (BlackBerryThemeCentral.com) head of operations dropped me a note this morning to let me know about his newest addition to the theme library, and I think you’ll all be pretty impressed.

For a “donation” of $5 or more the iBerry theme for the BlackBerry 7100 series devices can be yours.

Now you can make your BlackBerry look like an iPhone and sound like an iPhone… The only real question left is will we be hit with a cease and desist from Apple because we are telling you that you can.

The real question is what you will do if you actually get a cease and desist letter.

We will cross that bridge when we come to it, but, seeing how this post has already been linked to many times and crawled by a bunch of search engines, there really is no point in them sending me one.

I installed the 8700 theme and it totally sucked ass. Even without the “TRIAL VERSION” banner floating in the background… it’s not good.

There is too much wasted space at the top of the screen. Why can’t these cats make a theme that has a thin header like BB Insight-Icon? I mean, seriously, who wants half of their screen taken up by the carrier logo, battery status and signal strength bar?

My 2 cents.

I wouldn’t say it absolutly sucks. I think it’s a good first effort. I just think the black scrolling and menu selecting is confusing as it is the same black as the background, etc.

Nice try, but I would like to see some more inprovements before dorpping the $10 donation.

The initial iBerry theme for the 8700 that I received had a problem on my Verizon branded device where the icons partially overlapped the grey bar on the bottom that you see in the preview on his site.

I asked the developer if he would release a version that doesn’t have the grey bar, which he very graciously provided for another $5.00 donation. Looks great!

I’d suggest specifically requesting the no-grey bar version if you’re using an 8700.

HELP! I downloaded this theme and my blackberry will do nothing but show an hour glass! I have taken the battery out and left it out for over a minute, but as soon as I put it back in, back to the hour glass it goes. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BLACKBERRY?

Beth Moser, you’re Blackberry has crashed. It happened to me, but you can fix it by re-loading the OS. It works with the operating system 4.2, reason why it crashed because you have OS 4.1

If you want to run this, you’ll have to upgrade to OS 4.2
