There's just no way I'd ever consider reading a book on my BB. Personally, I like the idea of the iPad. Does more than just books, and makes me rethink about my NY Times and Wall Street "paper" subscriptions (which BTW, would pay for the iPad in less than two years even with my huge discounts).
