@iPhoneDefector...

I know that this is a bit off topic, but, why did you leave the iPhone for the BlackBerry?

I wouldn't say that I expect something for nothing, but, when you give me a utility that doesn't have ads in it for months, don't just spring ads on me without having a premium version without the ads ready. I would gladly pay a couple of bucks not to have ads, but, that has to be an option.

I think donationware is a really good idea. Going to be heard to charge a lot for this because it was already free and a there are a lot of other free options. Allowing people to donate a dollar or two may reap better benefits than charging the minium 3 on App World.

Making the premium version donationware is probably not a bad idea. They aren't going to be able to charge too much because the other BlackBerry Twitter clients are free anyway.

How very typical of people to expect something for nothing. I, for one, am a UberTwitter user and hope that they add them back in. UberTwitter is not making software for everyone's benefit, they're making software to make money. Programs don't just appear, there is hours of hard work by a team of people. Stop looking for a hand out, people.

I didn't even realize the ads were gone. That's how unobtrusive they were.

I still don't think it was a big deal. It's not even "ads", but "ad". It was only in once place and I didn't even hit it on accident because I know how to navigate my blackberry.

I think that when you initially start something without ads, even it if it is free, that it will be hard to add them after the fact if you don't continue to offer an ad-free version. If UberTwitter put ads in the free version but released the premium version at the same time, the backlash would not have been nearly as severe.

I don't see what the big deal was. Should the company be aloud to make a profit?
