It has poor performance...does not play nice with existing Jave ME apps (imcompatible or runs slower then native rim apps). The api is unfriendly towards developers therefore you have terrible blackberry apps. poor documentation, mysterious and convoluted. The OS needs a huge overhaul, this should be their top priority! They need to do that especially for the STORM! No matter how they tweak and fix the software, the performance is still totally unacceptable. If even RIM can't make their own apps run fast what are third party devs supposed to do?

@The rock: I completely agree. -Universal BlackBerry Desktop Software.-Stop innovation by following the industry leader Apple with their iPhone, the Blackberry is not a iPhone, and will never be a iPhone. If RIM see's the need to partner with Apple so be it, but they will never out Apple Apple.-Better to completely overhaul the BB device OS sooner than later. It's already been showing it's age and as devices get more and more advanced the BB OS is going to be a real problem.-Open up a few well placed retail/service/learning locations. A few brick and mortar locations will only help strengthen the BB brand.-Start selling non-branded, unlocked BB's with RIM firmware NOT service providers firmware which always does more harm than good. People, especially enthusiasts want RIM BB's not verizon, sprint, tmobile,at&t BB's.Now for the toughest one:
-Give enthusiasts, consumers, a reason again to buy a Blackberry instead of a Apple iPhone.

Lets hope 2009 is better than 2008 for RIM. The document above is what I am referring to.
Someone took "guesses", used word to create a fake document, and now its being passed around the blogs as a "leaked document".
Can't remember where this originally popped up months ago, but now everyones posting it like it came out of Waterloo when it obviously is not legit at all.

Yes.
