Sprint/Nextel To Discontinue the BlackBerry 7520

It looks like Sprint/Nextel is paving the way for the BlackBerry 8830 set to hit Sprint store shelves in July by discontinuing the long selling BlackBerry 7520 in May.

It will be interesting to see if companies that are trying to hang on to the Nextel network and their coast to coast walkie-talkie like push to talk feature that made Nextel famous will switch over to the BlackBerry 8830 or buy up as many BlackBerry 7520 devices that they can find out in the channel.

Time will definitely tell. I just hope that the Nextel diehards start to realize that the network near and dear to their hearts is going away and that they should, if they haven’t already, start making plans to move…
