Rumor has it that RIM was shooting a BlackBerry comerrical in Union Square just before Christmas. Has anyone heard anythng?

BlackBerry 8800 coming February 12th… Possibly…
There are rumors floating around that the BlackBerry 8800 will either be launched our announced this coming February 12th at the 3GSM conference in Barcelona. There was no mention of what carrier the BlackBerry 8800 will debut on.

Did RIM leak upcoming BlackBerry details?
There is an article coming out of the UK from TechWorld.com stating that RIM is responsible for the leak of the BlackBerry 8800/9XXX specs and details and did so in order to “stave off competition from Apple’s iPhone”. We first heard about them over on BGR. Like Steve from BlackBerry Cool, I don’t believe that BG would regurgitate a press release that RIM wanted to put out as an insider leak.
If RIM did, however, “leak” this information, how lame is that?
