BlackBerry 8700c Theme

Thanks to BlackBerry Forums member jibi, we have a picture of what the theme for the BlackBerry 8700c from Cingular may look like. As you can see, the icons have a soft cartoonish look and feel to them.

One of the points of contention in the forums surrounds the phone icon. If you look closely, you will notice that the icon actually looks like an old school Treo. Several forum members point out that an icon that looks more like a BlackBerry or a desk phone could have been used in it’s stead.

Rumor has it that the BlackBerry 8700c will be released on November 1st in a launch event in New York. That BlackBerry 8700c from Cingular is one of the most anticipated releases from BlackBerry maker Research in Motion this year.

BlackBerry Connect on the Motorola MPx220

We reported a few weeks ago that BlackBerry Connect was coming to the Motorola MPx220 via Vodafone in South Africa. At the time, however, we didn’t think about experience of sending email from a wireless device with a standard cell phone style numeric keyboard. I have been a supporter of SureType technology found on the 710x series BlackBerry devices if you primarily read email and don’t compose a lot of long emails. I also think that trying to respond on a numeric keyboard, even for short messages, would absolutely suck.

If anyone has experience sending emial from a numeric keyboard, please, feel free to leave a comment and let us know if it is better than what I think it is.
