The Siemens SK65 has got to be one of the coolest cell phones that I have ever seen. If I lived in the UK I would definately go out and buy one. It is the first cell phone to have BlackBerry built in. I love my 7100T but this thing sweet.
Although the BlackBerry may be to email what the Ipod is to music, Research in Motion does not want their business to go the way of Apple Computer. The Macintosh once dominated the PC landscape but Apple’s refusal to license their OS to other hardware manufacturers has turned what some still consider to be the best personal computer ever developed to just a novelty in the business world. Although RIM currently dominates the wireless email market, there are estimates that the total market is 35 million users. RIM just went over 2 million users in mid November and all of the other players combined don’t yet have a million users. This means that well over 90% of the market still goes untapped and you can bet that the big dogs want to get a piece of pie. This is why RIM has started licensing their messaging software to third party hardware vendors like Motorola, Nokia, etc. They even have a deal with PalmSource, who currently, is their biggest competitor.
It looks like Location Based Services are comming to the BlackBerry. Not only will your company be able to send you email anywhere any time; they will know your exact location on company time. I am sure that there will be a lot of mixed emotions about this feature.

The BlackBerry wireless e-mail device is now being used by a record 2 million subscribers, less than a year after it topped the 1 million market.
I just read an article that talks about how Microsoft has overtaken Palm for top spot in PDA race but also goes on to mention that RIM has taken a stong hold of third place. Blackberry has quadrupled it’s share from 4.9 percent to 19.8 percent in the last year.
Dobson Cellular Systems’ Cellular One is rolling out BlackBerry services to its professional customers in rural America. The carrier plans to offer both BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service to attract both big and small business customers.
